The Museum

On Thursday 11th April, the year 3 children went to the museum. We learnt a lot about what it means to be a New Zealander. We visited the marae and then looked around the museum. It was a great day! We wrote about our experience and published some of our work on the iPads.

Celebrating Our Cultures

We have many different cultures in our class. Today we were able to wear the clothes our cultures wear. It was fantastic seeing all the different fashions and colors.

Our Tikis

We have been busy painting some fabulous tikis. We mixed red, yellow, blue, green and white to make all these lovely colors.

A Busy Week

We have been very busy this week.  We have used the iPads to help us learn our basic facts.  Ms Thompson said if we want to be quick we need to practise a lot at home.

We also did mathletics on the laptops.  It was a lot of fun solving the maths problems. We are going to do this at home for our homework. Mums and dads, our login is at the back of our notebooks.

We have also been busy painting a tiki. First we practiced drawing a few koru designs and then we drew them on to our tikis.  Miss Thompson set us a challenge! She asked us to go home and find out what the koru means. Michele and Navdeep came back with the answers. Ka pai Michele and Navdeep!  If you want to know what the koru means, you can ask them.

Swimming!

We will be going for swimming lessons every Wednesday for the next five weeks. Remember to bring your togs and two towels in a plastic bag. Please put your names on everything!
